While winter season is still here in this desert region, why not go for a quick fun run up the mountains of Jebel Hafeet!
Fun run for most involves running with their nice pair of running shoes. But for us, we do it together with our hard earned beloved cars.
Destination: Jebel Hafeet!
This mountain is considered to be one of the greatest driving roads in the world, about 4,000 feet above sea level. On winter season, if you reach the top before sunrise, you will be lucky enough to witness amazing view of sea of clouds. It is about 150 kilometers from Dubai, approximately a two-hour drive. Of course depending on how fast you drive it can take you even less time, in some parts it allows you to drive to a maximum of 140 kilometers per hour. It is located in Al Ain and sits at the border of the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Let me take you up to the rocky mountains of Jebel Hafeet!
Start time 5:30 AM. Meet up place was decided to be in Outlet Mall parking area. This area is an ideal meetup place as it connects you directly to Al Ain road. The empty parking lot was an easy access and wide enough to fit all cars side by side, Toyota 86s, Subaru BRZs, Ford Focus STI, Golf GTI.
By 6:30 AM, we started our convoy. We are joined by the multi awarded Desert Cobra owned by Paul and drift master Reign with the huge spoiler winged Toyota 86.
After 2 hours of breezy driving, we have finally reached the top of the mountain, Jebel Hafeet!
The photos are just a priceless sight. Everyone is openly giving tips and advices about car upgrades, modifications do’s and dont’s. It is so rewarding to see your childhood dream cars getting fulfilled while in another country. Happy to meet this group of diverse Filipinos who have a big passion for cars and offer true friendship without anything in return.
It was indeed a long drive, but sometimes it is not about the destination, it is reaching the top together which makes it all worthwhile.
