Real “Squid Game” to be played in Abu Dhabi

Everyone’s going crazy about Squid Game these days that we can afford to skip an intro and jump straight to what’s happening this week.

On Tuesday, October 12, two groups with 15 pre-selected team members will participate in a “real-life” Squid Game organized by the Korean Cultural Centre in Abu Dhabi. In keeping with the show, participants (out of the 300 who auditioned) will wear similar Squid Game uniforms while the staff wears circle, triangle, and square costumes.

How will it be played?

Green light, red light, the dalgona game, marbles, glass stepping stones, and ttakji will all be played in five different rounds.

Don’t worry, there won’t be deadly penalties on this one. 🙂 KCC will use sponge guns in the game for elimination.

There will also be no prize money to be won. Through this event, the Korean Cultural Center aims to inspire people in the United Arab Emirates to learn even more about Korean culture.
