iPhone 14 features that make you want to upgrade

Apple is without a doubt one of the best smartphone companies in the world. People are always clamoring to get one whenever there’s a new one out in the market.

But unlike others who would quickly discard their iPhones for a newly released unit, you’re more practical. You want to be sure if it’s worth it to upgrade, particularly to iPhone 14.

Is it worth it to upgrade to iPhone 14?

iPhone 14 is the latest flagship smartphone of Apple, along with iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro, released on September 7, 2022.

Since its release, it has been incredibly hard to get ahold of, often sold out. But if you have recently come across the device in some store, you must be tempted to jump into a newer iPhone.

Before you do that, it’s always a good idea to know more about what improvements the phone brought with it.

Well, here’s what we have to say: at the price of USD 799, it doesn’t really have game-changing improvements.  They’re modest upgrades but considerable enough.

But we’re here to help you decide if it’s a worthy upgrade with its newest features discussed below.

It has a more powerful hardware

iPhone 14 doesn’t have an A16 Bionic chip but uses A15 Bionic instead. It isn’t much ahead of A16, but it is much stronger than the hardware with older devices.

This phone at least has double the power that iPhone 11 has. Also, the A15 chip that iPhone 14 has is 25% stronger than the A15 chip of the iPhone 13, particularly when it comes to games.

iPhone 14’s chip works well with using RAM. Even with using other applications, like the camera, other programs won’t suddenly crash.

It has improved picture quality

Another improvement that makes the iPhone 14 a great upgrade is the improved quality of pictures taken with this phone.

It’s all thanks to the advanced Photonic Engine technology it uses, which adds 2.5 times more detail to pictures taken at night.

Also, iPhone 14 has a 12-megapixel main camera. This camera is excellent when used in low light, capturing light 49% better than older iPhones.

It has a smaller cutout in the screen

iPhone owners are familiar with the “cutout.” It’s that small part of the screen used for the Face ID sensors. It’s not a big issue for most users, but it sometimes gets in the way and is annoying.

Apple has reduced the size of the cutout, a little bit, in some of the previous generations including the iPhone 14.

It’s a tiny difference but the smaller cutout makes it less interfering for watching YouTube videos, movies, and TV shows, or playing games.

Its battery lasts so much longer

Apple iPhones are notorious when it comes to battery. Many users complain about having to charge their phones twice or thrice a day after only six months of use.

Out of all the iPhone 14’s improvements, it’s probably the battery that makes it worth it to swap to this version. This is because iPhone 14 comes with a 3279 mAh battery, compared to the 2815 mAh of the iPhone 12.

The phone’s battery should last a day with a bit more in the evening before you need to charge it for the next day’s use.

Conclusion

All of iPhone 14’s upgrades aren’t big changes in hardware and software that make it entirely different from previous generations.

However, they’re enough to consider getting the new version in exchange for iPhone 11 or iPhone 12. It’s really just a matter of what features you want your phone to have.
