5 simple but effective exercises you can do at home or at work

Exercising at home or even at work has never been this easy. Sometimes, all you need is the proper equipment and the time to get your body moving.

Here are five simple but effective exercises you can do at home or in the workplace.

Planking

Planking is an exercise that can make you sweat easily. It also targets the core muscles so you don’t need to exercise for long periods of time.

What’s great about planking is you can do it anytime, anywhere. So, even if you are busy at work, you can squeeze it in and reap the best results weeks later.

Since planking just makes use of your body weight, you don’t need to use dumbbells and other workout gear. This can help you save time and money.

Squats and lunges

Squats and lunges are perfect for those that want to tone their legs and thighs.

Just like planking, you don’t need additional gear to do squats and lunges. But if you wish you add variation, you can use dumbbells and ankle weights.

Squats and lunges are also perfect for toning the abdominal muscles so if you want to have abs, this is one workout that you can try doing regularly.

Push-ups

Push-ups can also be done at home or at work. In fact, you can do it the minute you’re alone at the office.

Push-ups serve as a whole-body workout because they target the stomach, triceps, biceps, and chest and make you sweat.

Running on the treadmill, with an incline

Some offices these days have their own gym. If you are one of the lucky ones, you can also squeeze in some cardio after your office hours.

Running on a treadmill with an incline can help you lose weight fast as long as you also eat healthily.

Treadmills nowadays are equipped with technological advancements so you can watch a movie or listen to music while running.

You wouldn’t even notice that you’ve been running for 15 to 30 minutes because you are having so much fun.

Fitness challenges

In order to develop a fondness for working out, you need to switch things up all the time. When a workout starts to feel easy and becomes dull, chances are you wouldn’t want to do it again.

Some offices have fitness challenges for their employees. You can sign up for group activities such as this one. And since you will be with your colleagues, you will be motivated to work out with them.

A perfect example of this type of activity is the upcoming Dubai Fitness Challenge, which includes cycling, running, biking, and more. All you have to do is register and COMMIT to exercise for 30 minutes in 30 days. You’ll be surprised with the result if you religiously commit to doing it.

Remember, exercises don’t need to be time-consuming or unbearable. It’s still best to do simple exercises consistently because this can generate a more positive result in the end.
